The 12th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival has opened in Hangzhou, with artists and enterprises from 80 countries and regions taking part.

One of the festival's most popular events is the cosplay competition, with finals to be held on April 30 and May 1. Initiated in 2005, the six-day festival aims to foster cooperation, competition, and development between cartoon organizations from home and abroad. It is China's largest animation expo.
