The visiting Chinese mainland Olympians have been warmly welcomed by the Hong Kong SAR government with welcome cocktail party and banquet on Saturday.

Addressing the party, HK Chief executive Leung Chun-ying said the athletes' achievements and their spirit of teamwork and resilience have inspired people in Hong Kong.

And at the banquet, the returning Olympians reviewed highlights of the Rio Olympics. Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration Carrie Lam said she hopes the Olympians could visit the city again next year, which marks the 20th anniversary of HK's return.
