The streets were filled with colour, costumes, music and plenty of people this weekend in Macao. A Latin-style parade was held to celebrate the 17th anniversary of Macao's return to China.

The "Parade through Macao, Latin City" has been an annual celebration for the entire city. This year it attracted crowds of viewers along the route, as well as those who watched the live broadcast on outdoor screens at various locations.
The event saw up to 1,200 performers from over 60 art groups. They were from various countries and regions including Macao, Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. December 20th, 1999, saw the handover of Macao to China as a Special Administrative Region.
