Retired Chinese basketball star Yao Ming has been appointed to lead the transition team of the Chinese Basketball Association, but that's not only where his role ends. As the key connection between China's basketball and NBA in the US, Yao is still expected to breathe new life into the Chinese basketball industry. Although Yao Ming is not in the short list of candidates for the coach of the Chinese national basketball team, he is still seen to be able to bring changes into how the game is managed for the benefit of China's sports fans.
