Wang Jin has spent decades restoring the antique imperial clocks of Beijing's Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City. From the time of the reign of Qianlong (1735-95) until near the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), many of China's royal families took a keen interest in clocks. Over the years, these royal treasures inevitably lost their luster and stopped working, but almost every timepiece that has passed through 55-year-old Wang's hands has been restored to its former glory.
