Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang on Thursday called for closer collaboration between China and Europe in the field of urbanization.
Li made the remarks during the EU-China Cooperation on Urbanization Forum held here in Brussels.
Calling urbanization the most important inner drive for the Chinese economy, Li said it had also provided Europe an opportunity to address its current sovereign debt crisis.
He said he hoped Europe could find ways to contribute to the urbanization process of China.
The forum was attended by senior Chinese and European officials, including European Commission Vice President and Commissioner for Competition Joaquin Almunia, President of the Committee of the Regions Mercedes Bresso and Staffan Nilsson, President of the European Economic and Social Committee.
