Mutassim, the fourth son of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, was buried together with his father early Tuesday morning at a secret location in the desert, Al- Jazeera television reported, officials of the ruling Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC).
The report said that the decaying corpses of Gaddafi and his son were interred at about 5 a.m. local time (0300 GMT) Tuesday day by NTC fighters from the western coastal city of Misrata.
The burial ended a more than four-day public display of the corpses in a cold meat storage container in Misrata, which had suffered months of siege by Gaddafi's forces during the country's eight-month-long conflict.
Reuters reported Monday NTC fighters guarding the corpses " placed plastic sheeting under them as fluids leak." The footage of Al-Jazeera TV showed Monday that people were still being allowed into the temporary morgue to visit and take photos of the rotting corpses.
