Global Civilization Initiative (GCI)

The futures of all countries are now closely connected, so tolerance, coexistence, exchange and mutual learning among different civilizations have been playing an even more important role in advancing modernization and enabling human civilizations to thrive. In March 2023, Xi Jinping introduced the "Global Civilization Initiative" at the CPC in Dialogue with World Political Parties High-Level Meeting, expressing the sincere desire of the Communist Party of China to work with political parties in other countries to promote the modernization cause with national characteristics, promote exchange and mutual learning among all civilizations, and promote the construction of a global community of shared future.

The Global Civilization Initiative focuses on "common advocates": joint advocacy for respect for the diversity of civilizations, advocacy for the common values of humanity, advocacy for the importance of inheritance and innovation of civilizations, and advocacy for robust international people-to-people exchanges and cooperation. GCI upholds the principles of equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and inclusiveness and promotes the common values of humanity. Cultural exchange must overpower estrangement, mutual learning must come before clashes, and coexistence must overcome feelings of superiority. Countries should be encouraged to push for creative transformation and innovative development of their fine traditional cultures and promote mutual understanding and friendship among people of all countries to jointly advance the progress of human civilizations.

The Global Civilization Initiative is another important public product China is providing to the international community in the new era, following the Global Development Initiative and the Global Security Initiative. It offers Chinese solutions that promote world modernization and forward progress of human civilization.

全球文明倡議

在各國前途命運(yùn)緊密相連的今天，不同文明包容共存、交流互鑒，在推動人類社會現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程、繁榮世界文明百花園中具有不可替代的作用。2023年3月，習(xí)近平在中國共產(chǎn)黨與世界政黨高層對話會上提出“全球文明倡議”，表達(dá)了中國共產(chǎn)黨愿同各國政黨一道，推進(jìn)具有本國特色的現(xiàn)代化事業(yè)、促進(jìn)全球文明交流互鑒、推動構(gòu)建人類命運(yùn)共同體的真誠愿望。

全球文明倡議以四個(gè)“共同倡導(dǎo)”為核心內(nèi)涵，即共同倡導(dǎo)尊重世界文明多樣性、共同倡導(dǎo)弘揚(yáng)全人類共同價(jià)值、共同倡導(dǎo)重視文明傳承和創(chuàng)新、共同倡導(dǎo)加強(qiáng)國際人文交流合作。這一倡議秉持平等、互鑒、對話、包容的文明觀，倡導(dǎo)弘揚(yáng)全人類共同價(jià)值，主張以文明交流超越文明隔閡、文明互鑒超越文明沖突、文明包容超越文明優(yōu)越，推動各國優(yōu)秀傳統(tǒng)文化在現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程中實(shí)現(xiàn)創(chuàng)造性轉(zhuǎn)化、創(chuàng)新性發(fā)展，促進(jìn)各國人民相知相親，共同推動人類文明發(fā)展進(jìn)步。

全球文明倡議是繼全球發(fā)展倡議、全球安全倡議后，新時(shí)代中國為國際社會提供的又一重要公共產(chǎn)品，為推動世界現(xiàn)代化進(jìn)程、促進(jìn)人類文明進(jìn)步提供了中國方案。
