Commercialism and mistresses depicted in popular TV series are to blame for divorce disputes, which accounted for most family disputes for three consecutive years, according to a court report, jschina.com.cn reported.
Yizhen People's Court in Jiangsu Province accepts 700 to 800 cases of family disputes every year from 2009 to 2011, divorce cases are the most common, but the report did not give the exact number.
After analyzing these cases, the court concluded in the report that vulgar TV is the "silent killer" of marriage.
Some TV series feature exaggerated plots that depict commercialism, sexual liberation, mistress romance and absolute individual freedom.
Most divorce cases are caused by a loyalty crisis between couples. Extramarital love and ONS are the typical reasons, according to the report.
