Adam Lenton, student from University of Exeter in the UK, said that he was deeply impressed by the concert. He added that although people were from different cultures, music had helped to connect them as it could go beyond borders.
The concert is part of the 2011 Universiade Youth Festival, one of the five flagship events in the 2011 China-EU Year of Youth, which is promoted by Chinese premier Wen Jiabao and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso.
2011 China-EU Year of Youth is the first theme year since the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and EU 35 years ago.
It is the first time for China and EU to launch official youth exchange program, which aims to promote intercultural dialogue and strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between young people in China and the EU, as well as encouraging them to support the development of China-EU relations.
