Overseas Chinese media, including the ChinaPress (Qiaobao) in the US, Nouvelles d'Europe in France and Lianhe Zaobao in Singapore have named The Study on Sensationalization by young writer Zhang Yiyi as one of the top 10 literary masterpieces in China's 5000-year history, alongside classic works such as The Dream of Red Mansions, the Book of Changes, and the Art of War.
Zhang is well-known in China for his startling quotes and his ability to hype-up celebrities. In his book, he explains the quickest and most effective ways to sensationalize people and events and likens himself to Chinese cultural giants like Confucius and Laozi.
