Lindian County, Heilongjiang Province 黑龍江林甸
Lindian County, known as the home of the black-necked cranes, boasts the largest geothermal field in China. It's located in the western central part of Heilongjiang Province, 275 kilometers away from the capital city of Harbin. The county's total reserve of geothermal resources stands at 181 billion cubic meters, equaling that of 44 Miyun Reservoirs in Beijing. With temperatures averaging between 40℃ and 90℃, the spring water is rich in more than 20 beneficial mineral elements.
There are a number of spa centers and facilities in the county, including the Beiguo Spa Resort, Lindian Hot Spring Sanatorium, Xiangquan Spa Center, Yangguang Spa Square, Postal Staff Training Center and Tianxing Swimming Center. Beiguo Spa Resort which covers a land area of 72,000 square meters, is the most famous. Tourists can soak in the spring water, take a shower, or swim in the pool to their heart's content. There are more than 80 pools boasting a range of different functions. Come during the winter months and savor the feeling as you adapt from the -20℃ temperatures outside to water temperatures in excess of 45℃.
