Chenzhou City, Hunan Province 湖南郴州
Located in southeastern Hunan Province, 350 kilometers from the capital city of Changsha, Chenzhou is a city set amid mountain-covered forests. Dubbed the "South Getaway of Hunan", it is also one of the most geothermal-rich areas in Central China, with more than 40 natural hot springs scattered across its territory. The springs' annual flow volume totals around 23 million cubic meters.
Its major hot spring resorts include the Rucheng Spa Resort in Reshui Town of Rucheng County, Paradise Spa Resort on the northern outskirts of Chenzhou, Longnv Spa Resort in northwest Chenzhou, Yuelai Hot Spring in Yongxing County, and Longhai Spa Resort in Longhaiji Town of Anren County.
The most famous resort is the Rucheng Spa Resort, which boasts the largest natural hot spring in both Hunan and South China-Rucheng Hot Spring. The AAAA rated resort has 33 spa pools, a large indoor swimming pool, and 13 therapeutic centers. Tourists can also enjoy the novelty of boiling eggs in the spring water.
