The young and handsome Jean is a TV station cameraman who gets AIDS from living a promiscuous lifestyle. One day, he meets 17-year-old model Laura, and suddenly falls in love with her. Jean realizes that he is a bisexual and tells Laura that he also loves men, and Laura accepts this new revelation. Then, he falls in love and lives together with Samy, a handsome rugby player. However, Laura finds out and threatens him saying she will kill herself. Laura's family worries about her well being and send her away to recuperate. Samy also leaves because he doesn't want to be involved in a love triangle. Jean starts to travel as his life nears its end, and begins to understand many of the things that eluded him before. The film reflects young people's loss and decadent lifestyle during late 80s to early 90s France. The film, which received the César Award, was based on the life of Cyril Collard, the film's director.
