The list of China’s most competitive new economic zones was released by the Hong Kong-based China Institute of City Competitiveness in early December. The zones were ranked for their operation, openness, growth potential and infrastructure.
The Shanghai Pudong New Area, Tianjin Binhai New Area and Chongqing Liangjiang New Area were the top three. The following are the top 10 new economic zones in China.
Dianzhong Industrial Zone, Yunnan Province
Construction of Dianzhong Industrial Zone began on March 25, 2013. It aims to achieve a GDP of 150 billion yuan (US$24.71 billion) by 2015, and focus on mid to high-end industries such as automobile and equipment manufacturing, electronic information and biology.
