Times Square, a major commercial area in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, is a must-see attraction when visiting the United States. It boasts a plethora of stores, theaters and advertising screens, and it is one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in the world. It is also one of the world's most-visited attractions, attracting over 39 million visitors annually. Although the east coast of the United States just experienced its coldest winter in two decades, the annual ball drop on New Year's Eve of 2013 to 2014 attracted more than 1 million people, according to CNN live reports.
