Bamei Village, Yunnan Province

Bamei Village is located in Guangnan county, Yunnan. Visitors can get there through a cave near the Bamei River and this is the only way to enter the village. Bamei is sheltered in a fertile basin covering an area of 30 square kilometers and measuring an altitude of 700 meters. Due to the inconvenient location and inefficient transportation, it remains pure and unadorned. At present it is home to 119 families, mostly of the Zhuang minority.
