Jason Kidd
Jason Kidd leads the New Jersey Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals appearances in 2002 and 2003. |
The 19-year NBA veteran Jason Kidd announced his retirement on June 3, with two years remaining on his contract with the New York Knicks, ending a career that included 10 All-Star Game appearances, three NBA Finals appearances and two Olympic gold medals.
Regarded as one of the greatest all-around point guards in NBA history, Kidd ranks No. 2 in all-time assists and steals, trailing only Hall of Fame guard John Stockton in both categories.
Less than two weeks after his playing career finished, Kidd began coaching; the Brooklyn Nets appointed the 40-year-old as its head coach on June 13.
